Books
in Cyber

A half-day virtual conference about the books that shape cybersecurity - the writers, the readers, and the ideas that endure.

§ 01AboutThe brief

A note from the editors

Books in Cyber is a half day virtual conference dedicated to the books that shape cybersecurity, the people who write them, the craft of publishing them, and the practice of turning a book into a career tool. Co hosted by EK Cyber and the Cybersecurity Canon Project.

Why a conference about books? Because the best cybersecurity practitioners do not just read security books - they argue about them. Books in Cyber turns those arguments into a stage.

What happens on the day? A half-day, four to five sessions, author spotlights and leadership panels, closing with the Cybersecurity Canon’s annual Hall of Fame inductions. Year One runs on September 8, 2026.

What does it cost? Nothing. The conference is free to attend, recordings stay public on YouTube, and there are no replay paywalls.

§ 07Why Year OneIn the co-hosts' words

The Cybersecurity Canon was built because the best practitioners I know don't just read security books - they argue about them. Books in Cyber turns those arguments into a stage. That's overdue.

Rick HowardSenior Fellow, The Cybersecurity Canon ProjectLinkedIn ↗

Every cybersecurity leader I admire reads. They read constantly. We don't have a venue that takes that seriously - one day a year where the field stops to talk about the books that built it. Year One is that day.
